After talking to my husband and praying A LOT, I decided to stop the Daniel Fast after day seven, and begin the fast my husband was doing starting on day eight. The first day was rough. I was hungry, cranky and felt dizzy, but I made it through. My husband leaves for work around 6 am, so he had been getting up around 4 am to make breakfast and have time for devotions. I've been doing the same for the past seven days, and although it is taking some getting used to, I am enjoying this fast. After the first day, praying has helped me through the hunger, and I actually have more energy than when I was eating last week! My husband and I are growing closer, and I feel more connected to God. We've even had some prayers answered this week AND I still haven't had a cup of coffee!

The past three days have been awful! Giving up coffee was really hard, and I had to pray A LOT to resist just giving up. My hubby is doing a 40 day fast, but he opted to do a liquids only fast from 6 am to 6 pm daily. I am hypoglycemic, and do not feel that type of fast would be best for me, which is why I chose the Daniel Fast. That being said, the coffee craving was so strong on days 1-3 that I even thought about doing my hubby's fast just so I could go back to drinking coffee. I know that's not what the Lord wants me to do, so I just kept praying. Today is much better. I'm regaining my energy and my headache is gone. I don't feel any closer to God yet, but I'm learning a lot more about what it means to be a Christian through my daily Bible study and devotions.

I'm starting the Daniel Fast on Sunday. I'm a pescetarian, so I won't have to cut out as much of my diet as a meat eater would. I'm not anticipating this to be easy though. Giving up coffee is going to be the hardest part for me, but I have faith that God will bring me through the 21 days. I'm hoping to update at least weekly. Anyone have tips?

My profile for Julep is the "It Girl" but I usually end up choosing polishes from a few of the profiles. This month, I decided to stick with my original box even though I'm not a huge fan of yellow or glitter. I'm so happy I did, because I LOVE all three polishes! The pictures don't do the colors justice, especially Braiden! I ordered a mystery box, but it hasn't arrived yet. Stay tuned for that!
If you'd like to try Julep for free, use my link and they will e-mail you a code for a free box!
Disclosure: I paid for this subscription with my own money. I was not compensated in any way for this post.

I have always loved nail polish, but I stopped buying it for a while because I was getting my nails done at the salon. I recently became interested in doing my own nails again, and found Julep.com. I instantly fell in love with all of the color choices, and ordered my first box right away. If you don't know about Julep, it's a monthly nail polish subscription box. The first thing you do when you sign up is take a quiz to find out your "maven style profile." Mine is "It Girl," which includes three limited edition nail polish colors each month. One thing I love about Julep is the ability to customize each box. You can choose from any of the profiles, and can also swap out your products for other products. Once your box is chosen, you can pick up to three add-ons for a discount. I got my first box for free (just paid shipping), and chose a few add ons, so my first box ended up coming to around $30. I ended up with 7 gorgeous nail polishes and the Freedom to Go set (full size and travel size base/top coat).
From left to right: Maren, Margaret, Flora, Natalie, Amy, Alice & Blakely
These pictures and swatches do NOT do these colors justice! They are beautiful!
About a week after I received my first box, they had mystery boxes available. I had heard mixed reviews about their mystery boxes, but had to try one out for myself.
I chose the "Golden Ticket Mystery Box 3" and was very happy with what I received!
Left side: Nic & Scarlett. Top Right: Glam Roc (Stardust Finish), Shoshanna & Stevie. The bottom right shows the entire box. I received 5 nail polishes, the halo lip gloss set and a packet of seeds.
I am currently awaiting my June box, which will include two polishes and their new Plie wand. I also added on an additional nail polish, the Plie wand creativity kit and a packet of the swatch stickers because I love them and want to add them to my other polish bottles!
If you want a FREE BOX, click here to use my link to sign up!

Do you have trouble sleeping? Are you health conscious and prefer to use natural remedies? If so, check out Glysonna!
Glysonna is a natural dietary supplement that supports the sleep process. It contains active ingredients which directly encourage sleep, and wellness ingredients which act as a multivitamin by nourishing the body overnight.
My mom and brother both have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, so I asked them to try Glysonna. They both said it helped on some nights, but not all. My opinion is that if it helps even a little, it's worth it! Any extra sleep is better than none.
Here are some FAQ's from the Glysonna website:
Is Glysonna approved by the FDA?
Products classed as dietary supplements do not require FDA approval in the same manner that prescription and over-the-counter medications do. That said, our focus is the wellness of our customers and every effort has been made to ensure the natural formula is optimized for maximum strength without causing unwanted side effects. In addition, all of our ingredients are on the FDA's safe list.
What is Glysonna made of?
Glysonna contains eight active ingredients – Glycine, L-Theanine, JuJube Extract, Phenibut, Hops Extract, Passion Flower Extract, Cinnamon Extract and Melatonin – and seven wellness ingredients – Vitamin D, Vitamin B6, Zinc, Selenium, Niacin and Magnesium.
And now, for your chance to win a bottle of Glysonna! Giveaway is open to U.S. residents.

Meaningful Beauty's Creme de Serum is the newest product in Cindy Crawford's Meaningful Beauty anti-aging skin product line. I received the product free from Influenster, but all opinions are my own.
I was blessed with clear, youthful looking skin. I'm 32 and people tell me that I look like a high school student. When I received the VoxBox from Influenster, I did not think this Creme de Serum would do anything for my skin, since I do not have wrinkles or fine lines. I was wrong. My face has never been more hydrated or brighter!

I haven't blogged regularly in a very long time, but I'm back! I've been married for a little over 3 years, and could not have asked for a better man to spend my life with. He is truly heaven sent and I don't know what I would do without him. We have not yet been blessed with children, but we pray that one day we will be able to have a family. Right now, we are enjoying being 30-somethings living near NYC.
I am hoping to get back into doing product reviews and giveaways, but for now, I will just talk about my life, and the things I love. I am a brand ambassador for JustFab.com, so you will see reviews of their shoes, handbags and denim from time to time.
I hope you are enjoying your Veteran's Day. I am blessed to have married a veteran. I live my life each day with a true hero.

I was recently given the opportunity to review L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream. I have been using another brand's BB Cream for a few months, so I was excited to be able to compare the two brands.
The L'Oreal BB Cream is white, with small beads that blend into your skin. I like how light it feels on my skin. The cream easily blended into my skin, and I couldn't tell that I had anything on my face. It did seem to even out my skin, but it did not cover blemishes. I have dry skin, and this was not enough of a moisturizer for me. I had to apply an additional moisturizer before using the product. After reviewing this product for about 2 weeks, I found that I liked this one better than the brand I have been using. It's lighter and seems to blend into my skin better.
Product Info: This product gives the sheer coverage needed to create a natural bare skin finish, while delivering built-in skincare benefits. With four beautifying actions, this all-in-one innovation primes and smoothes, perfects to hide flaws, hydrates all-day, and corrects and evens skin. The product is infused with skincare ingredients like Panthenol, Vitamin E and Glycerin for 24-hour moisturization.
To apply, simply dot on and blend with fingertips. Self-adjusting beads will instantly transform and blend to your skin tone.
L'Oréal Paris Magic BB Cream retails for $10.95 for 1 fl oz. It is available in four shades and is sold at mass food and drug retailers nationwide.

I love coffee. Sometimes I think I am addicted to it. I once had to refrain from drinking coffee for 2 days because of a test I had to have at the neurologist's office, and it was torture! The only appliance used more than my Keurig is my Ninja, and I even use that to make coffee drinks. When I was given the opportunity to review Torani syrups, I was excited. I love flavored coffee, but I don't always want the same flavor, so I'd rather buy flavored creamers than flavored coffee.
I had never tried any kind of syrup made for flavoring coffee before participating in this review. I received the Sugar Free Gingerbread and Sugar Free Hazelnut varieties. I tried a little of both of them, and they were tasty, however, I cannot use sugar substitutes because they give me migraines. They definitely didn't go to waste, though, because my mother is diabetic & also loves coffee. When my mom and brother were over for Thanksgiving, I asked them to try the Torani syrups. My mom tried the gingerbread, and my brother tried the Hazelnut. They loved them! My mom took one home and one to work to share with her co-workers.
Check out Torani's website to see the WIDE variety of syrup flavors, and to find some delicious recipes!

We eat a lot of chicken in my house, so I'm always looking for new ways to make it. I received a coupon for a free Fresh Take Cheese & Breadcrumb mix, and couldn't wait to try it out. I chose the Rosemary & Roasted Garlic, but they also have Southwest Three Cheese and Italian Parmesan. It was so easy to use! The breadcrumbs and cheese come in a ziplock type bag. All you have to do is open the bag and shake to combine them. Next, you can either wet your meat with a little water, or use a beaten egg, and throw the piece of meat in the bag and shake to coat. It's like Shake & Bake, only so much better! My chicken took about 35 minutes to cook in a 375 degree oven, and came out delicious! I will buy this again!
**Disclosure--I received a coupon for a free product through Kraft's First Taste program. I was not obligated to write a blog posting, and all opinions are my own.**

Are you looking for comfortable, affordable clothes that can easily be worn to work and then out to dinner with hubby or friends? If your answer is yes, Fresh Produce is the place to shop!
I was given the opportunity to choose anything on the site to review. It was hard to narrow it down to one item, with their wide variety of island clothing and caribbean clothes. I finally decided on the Stroll Dress in Breezy Flower in the truffle color. This is from their spring dress collection. I was surprised at how soft the dress was! It was the perfect length on me, which was also surprising because I'm only 5'1! I normally wear a size small in tops and a size 6/8 in bottoms, so I ordered the small. The dress was a little roomy, but that's great for hiding any imperfections! It's also great for work. I'm a middle school teacher, and can't wear anything too tight or revealing.
This is the dress I selected, from the website:
And here it is on me...sorry about the mess of shoe boxes behind me!
Fresh Produce now ships to over 200 countries, so women outside the US can enjoy the colorful styles too.

My dad has been gone a year, and it has been a rough one. My grandpa passed away in December, one day away from being exactly 8 months to the day of my dad's passing. Our family had to endure going to the same funeral home, the same church and the same cemetery once again. My grandparents bought 2 plots when they bought their own so many years ago..."just in case" someone in the family needed it, so my dad and grandpa are buried next to each other. I think that was the hardest part of my grandpa's funeral...going back to the cemetery and seeing my dad's grave too. We all met back at the cemetery on April 7th, my dad's one year anniversary. We brought some things to decorate the grave, including a blue egg because he loved to decorate Easter eggs, and a chick because he was one of the few people who loved Peeps. We are still saving to get him a headstone. It's going to cost over $2,000, and since he had no life insurance and was diagnosed with cancer & passed away in just 8 months, we didn't have enough money to buy one. We went to a diner to eat after the cemetery. My grandma is such a strong woman. It was hard enough to lose my dad and grandpa, but I can't imagine losing a child and husband.
